Dear M. Dlamini Zuma,
I am writing to you on the occasion of the upcoming celebration of Independence Day
in Swaziland. On 6 September, this AU member state will commemorate its
independence from British rule, which it obtained in 1968.
31 August 2012: The laying of murder charges against 270 South African miners under a common purpose law notorious during the apartheid era is absurd, according to the ITUC.
Reports from Swaziland indicate that the levels of mobilisation inside Swaziland this year have reached unprecedented levels. Marches in rural and urban communities have been very well attended, and the reaction of local people has been very supportive.
With the global economic crisis still hitting working people hard in every part of the world, trade unions around the world will once again organise mobilisations, events and activities on October 7 to demand decent jobs and full respect for workers’ rights.
