This national tragedy has taken from Ghana a group of patriotic and distinguished individuals whose service to the country was marked by commitment, courage, and an unwavering sense of duty. Their untimely departure is not only a great loss to their families and loved ones, but also to the nation they served and to the broader African community striving for peace, development, and democracy.
At this moment of national grief and tragedy, ITUC-Africa stands in firm solidarity with the Ghana TUC, the Ghana Federation of Labour (GFL) and all Ghanaian workers. We honour the memory of the departed and extend our heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families, the President, and all the people of Ghana.
We echo the words of the Ghana TUC and the Ghana Federation of Labour (GFL) in recognising the dedicated service of these fallen compatriots and share in the sorrow that has befallen the nation.
