The agenda of the meeting included the presentation of the reports on the various programme areas of the 2012-2015 Strategic Plan of ITUC-Africa.

Following the presentations, the General Council commended the effort ITUC-Africa has been making to achieve its objectives. All the reports presented by programme officers were approved and adopted by the General Council. These reports included issues of trade union unity, human and trade union rights, gender equality, economic and social policy, the relations between ITUC-Africa and the African Union, internal democracy, social protection, climate change and the environment, occupational health and safety, youth issues, trade union development cooperation network and communication.

This meeting of the General Council of ITUC-Africa was attended by delegates from CUT Brazil who expressed their availability and commitment to work with ITUC-Africa.

Another agenda topic was the issue of the Middle East and North Africa sub-region.
