Humanis Social as a structure is meant to complement Gabon’s health development efforts and provide effective solutions to the health needs of the population. On Tuesday 24 May 2022, the Confédération syndicale gabonaise (COSYGA) hosted, at its Headquarters, the launch of a complementary health insurance for all its permanent members and their dependents.
As a parent labour organisation [in Gabon], COSYGA received on 24 May officials from Humanis Social, which is a socio-economic structure specialising in social protection.
The purpose of the meeting was to set up a general complementary healthcare basket consisting of refundable medical services for COSYGA permanent members and their dependants.
This co-financing platform consists of a mechanism for refunding the 20% of health costs that is not covered by the National Health Insurance and Social Security Fund (CNAMGS).
As an innovative medical scheme, Humanis Social, will provide 100% coverage for contributors and their dependents, thanks to the contribution of an additional agent in favour of the beneficiaries of the CNAMGS.
Recognising the urgent need for access to medical care and to guarantee workers’ health coverage, COSYGA called on officials of Humanis Social to draw up a collaboration protocol, which should be signed between the two parties.
