October 3 and 4, 2012 were important days for the African trade union movement and for Algeria in particular. A delegation from the Secretariat of the ITUC-Africa paid a working visit to UGTA (General Union of Algerian Workers) . The atmosphere was that of a celebration of a new beginning.
General Secretaries Kwasi Adu-Amankwah (ITUC-Africa) and Abdelmajid Sidi SAÏD (UGTA) conducted an analysis of the major social and economic challenges facing AFRICA. The occasion was propitious to review the trade union situation in Africa, to strengthen relations of cooperation and lay the foundations for a new step towards a labor movement that is more cohesive and united on the African continent.
