Keywords : Solidarity Letters Kenya

It is with deep outrage that we heard the news about the bloody attack that hit the
University of Garissa in Kenya on 02 April, leading to the killing of 148 people, mostly
students and injury of many others. These brutal and senseless acts relate to barbarism of
another age.

At this time of deep sorrow and national mourning by the people of Kenya, we would like to
offer our deepest condolences to the families of the victims and the people of Kenya as a
whole

This attack adds to the already long list of heinous acts of terrorism across Africa and poses
further threat to peace and security in our continent.

While addressing our most heartfelt thoughts to COTU and to the bereaved families, we
express our support for the resolve of the Kenyan government to intensify its fight against
terrorism and urge all African governments to work together to ensure the protection and
security of all people in Africa.

Yours fraternally,

Kwasi Adu-Amankwah

General Secretary
